The Epiphone AJ-220SCE / EB is an acoustic-electric guitar known for its balanced, "bell-like" tone, a solid Sitka spruce top, a Venetian cutaway for upper fret access, and a built-in pickup/preamp system. The "EB" in the name stands for its Ebony (black) finish. Body Shape & Tone: The Advanced Jumbo (AJ) body shape features a larger lower bout and smaller, rounded upper bout, which provides a focused, balanced tone with robust bass and crisp, clear highs. Top Material: It has a solid Sitka spruce top, which improves in sound quality and character as it ages and is played more over time. Back & Sides: The back and sides are made of select mahogany, adding warmth and resonance to the tone. Neck & Fingerboard: The neck is made of mahogany with a comfortable, fast-playing SlimTaper "C" or "D" profile and a satin finish to prevent your hand from sticking. The fingerboard is typically made of Pau Ferro or rosewood with 20 medium jumbo frets and dot inlays.
