XRF TESTED, Has acid test stain from previous test The 1906 Gold Half Sovereign is a 22-carat gold coin featuring King Edward VII, with a total weight of 3.99g, a diameter of 19.3mm, and a pure gold content of 3.66g. It depicts the crowned, right-facing portrait of King Edward VII on the obverse and Benedetto Pistrucci’s St. George and the Dragon design on the reverse. Key Features of the 1906 Half Sovereign: Obverse: The portrait of King Edward VII by George William De Saulles facing right. The inscription reads "EDWARDVS VII D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP". Reverse: The iconic St. George slaying the dragon design, with the date "1906" in the exergue below. Composition: 22-carat gold (916.7 fineness). Weight & Dimensions: 3.99 grams, 19.3 mm in diameter. Mint Marks: Coins struck at the London Mint have no mint mark. Branch mints (such as Melbourne - 'M', or Sydney - 'S') place their mark on the ground above the date.
